KEVIN'S 3 WINDOW RESTO IN CYPRUS
I am a retired 'Brit' who lives in Cyprus, I have bought
two 1959 PA 3 piece window cars last year, and will be making one good car
out of the two. I have restored Vintage and Classic cars for 35 years, but
this is my first Vauxhall restoration....boy did these cars rust ! even in
Cyprus !
Still it will keep me busy in my retirement, after all you can't sit around
all day in the sun drinking beer can you ? As you can see by the photo's I
am going for the 'Full Monty' restoration from a bare body shell. I hope to
have the restoration completed by 2009, on the cars 50th Birthday. I am also
going for the famous pink Cresta colour which I remember these cars being
in when I was a kid in the UK.

I have been working on my PA, around the petrol tank filler area (well what is left of it anyway !) I had to undo the spot welds on the rear wing and remove it, then cut the whole fuel filler section out with an angle grinder. Luckily my mate had an old scrap 1960 Cresta with an excellent complete fuel filler cap unit, which I carefully cut out. And this as been cut to size ready for welding in. Serious body restoration or what ! I am an expert at removing spot welds now ! |
