The stripdown has started.
Engine and all
Gaskets at the ready
All body parts were shot blasted.
The rest of the car was dismantled and cleaned with petrol and hot water.
After complete cleaning i could be sure the car had not rusted through at any point.
The engine roconditioned and painted ready for fitting.
The car was taken to the painter to apply paint to the insides of the doors, engine bay and the inner wings.
The engine was installed into the car where it had been for the past 48 years , only one week later (Nov 2004) the engine was stareted for the first time.
The doors were picked up from the painter (Mid Nov 2004) I started to assemble the body.
The assembly of the body went so fast the car was soon at the painters for the rest of the body to be painted.
The last fine work was done and in the evening of 20th Dec 2004 the car stood painted in front of me. Dawn Grey and Dover white is reborn!!!
Mid January 2005 the new wiring loom which was made in Australia and was identicle was ftted.
In one day the dashboard was removed and shot blasted and painted.
All chrome that was bad was repaired and rechromed.
